Thing You Should Not Do When Blow-Drying Your Hair

You wake up in the morning, hop in and out of the shower, and grab your hair dryer immediately afterwards right? Well, stop that. While no one enjoys going out of their way to blow-dry their hair, it’s just another maintenance chore we all have to do, like brushing your teeth. And just like brushing your teeth, there are certain things you should and shouldn’t do.

In this case, the biggest tip we can give you is to hold off on blow-drying right after you get out of the shower, because it is one of the worst things you can do to your hair. This is because the longer your hair is exposed to heat, the more damaged it will get. Wait until your hair is about 60% dry or at least damp until you blow-dry to prevent breakage. Also, blow-drying when it’s soaking wet leaves you more likely to be frizzing your hair, and isn’t the whole point of blow-drying to prevent looking like Hermione Granger? (It is for us.)

If you don’t have time to sit and wait for your hair to dry, which is totally understandable, take your towel and try to squeeze out as much of the water and moisture in your hair as you can. But if you do have some time to spare, the best advice we can give you is to wait 15-20 minutes before you go and grab your hair dryer! Why not use that time to multitask and brew your morning coffee or pick out your outfit for the day? We promise those 15-20 minutes will be up before you know it, and the results are well worth the wait!
