Menopause does not cause disruption
A new study at the University of Pennsylvania, says that menopause period does not increase or cause a disruption in sleep for women.
According to the researchers, women in thirties or forties who suffer disruption in sleep (before menopause period) more susceptible to disturbance in sleep at the age of despair of ordinary women who do not face disruption in sleep period (before menopause), studies indicate that 25% of the women suffered from a sleep disorder for the first time during the period of menopause, but the disorder is not caused by menopause, and this may reduce a lot of concerns felt by women about menopause.
This study is the first of its kind, the study of sleep habits for women in the years leading up to menopause. Researcher Ellen Freeman, Ellen W. Freeman says women who were suffering from minor or moderate sleep problems before menopause have suffered from the same problems after menopause, and menopause does not increase the sleep problems or create new difficulties in sleeping.
In the present study was to assess the special kind habits of 255 lady who participated in another study entitled “The Penn Ovarian Aging Study” in 16 years (between 1996-2012), the study was included women between the ages of 35-48 (before menopause) and was 28% of them suffer from sleep disturbance.
The study found that high body temperature intermittent hot flashes experienced by women in menopause disorder sometimes associated with type-which is what was expected-but there are a lot of women find it difficult to sleep in menopause without to test the hot flashes.
Freeman says that the results of the study indicate that only women who enjoy good health before menopause will not suffer from sleep disorders in menopause and sleep disorders can be caused by many other health problems that have nothing to do with menopause such as stress and nervous tension.
